This procedure is used to identify the cause of your voice problems, throat pain, trouble swallowing or globus sensation (the feeling of a lump in the throat).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>First your doctor will review your medical history and symptoms and complete a physical exam. Then a topical anesthetic is sprayed in your throat and a flexible scope is inserted in your nose and down your throat. You will then be instructed to speak, sing, cough, sniff, etc. while your doctor watches a magnified image of your vocal cords.
